Muse of the Month||Met Gala Faves

Not many looks impressed me this year, I felt like most were competing for who can look the most outrageous. Like Sarah Jessica Parker, I dunno I just wasn't feeling it and I'm still on the fence with Rihanna's look. I don't dislike it but it didn't wow me like some previous styles she's worn, loved the colour though. 

 

My faves of the night was split between Beyonce and Kendall. Loved the cute ponytail Bey wore and the criss cross detailing Kendall had going on the side of her dress.  

Gigi's dress was just simple and elegant, proves less can be more.

Muse of the Month||Jessie Ware

So apart from Jessie having an amazing voice, she has style that I for one adore also. I've always been a fan of the way she puts herself together and I've seen growth in how she constructs outfits. What I admire most about her style is how she accessories; she finds balance. If she's donning big hoops, she ensures that everything else stays modest and not over the top. 

What she wore for the Topshop SS15 show was perfect, it screamed androgyny. Seriously going to emulate that outfit.

     Looking forward to all the visuals for her upcoming new album out this month.

Muse of the Month||Kylie Jenner

So I abandoned muse of the month for a long time now because nothing was really exciting me fashion wise from any individual. But I thought let me reignite it with the cute and sassy Kylie Jenner.

I'm sure everyone and their mum has swooned over the ever evolving Kylie and her amazing sense of style. I really like how she puts herself together in such an effortless way, and even for her age it's admiring to watch. I wish I was that fashion forward when I was her age.

Muse of the Month||Cara Delevingne & Jourdan Dunn

Yes guys I have doubled up this month, I just had to put these two on here. Jourdan and Cara are officially the "it" girls of our generation. Who couldn't love them? When you see them at least once a day on a billboard somewhere. I admire how down to earth they both are; they never really try to pose for the paparazzi or make themselves look perfect. I always think of them as two normal young girls just having fun living life.

In the past year their modelling careers have blown through the roof, through their numerous campaigns with brands such as Burberry and Yves Saint Laurent. I've nicknamed them our modern day Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, because to me that's exactly what they are. You know; partying with the biggest stars, admired by all and making fashion look fabulous. Cara and Jourdan also admire the two British moguls legacy within the fashion industry. I think it's safe to say that these two have a long successful career ahead of them and I wish them the best of luck at that.

Muse of the Month||Nicole Richie

So who saw how stunning Nicole looked at the Met Gala? I was pleasantly suprised at the risk she took with  the look, I was like "you better work it gurrl!". Everything was just perfection, it all entwined beautifully, she had this amazing glow to her skin and her figure was just (sighs).  

The dress was one of Topshop's custom made pieces. The elegance it owned could fool anyone into thinking it was high end, with all the jewels and seductive lace it embodied. She kept her accessories minimal with a cute clutch and dainty little gold spikes around her ears, as her hair did most of the talking. 

Loved the choice of lipstick, it really complimented her eyes.

I've also been eyeing up her instagram in the last couple months and she still owns this chic, effortless look to her demeanor.  

Ashley Madekwe, Rooney Mara & Liu Wen were among my favourites also.

Muse of the Month||Solange Knowles

From box braids to matching prints, Solange Knowles is a trend setter. I adore her quirky style, she makes fashion look so fun with the clashing of colours and bold prints she uses. Solange interprets the 60s and 70s with a modern twist, making the dull and old look bright and new. I love Solange because she is fearless and doesn't conform to what's supposedly "on trend", she dresses how she feels which inspires me to do the same.

In Solange's most recent music video "Losing You" which in my opinion is a beautiful 80s vibe tune; she wears everything high waisted and vibrant and it's only fair that everyone else in the video looked jazzy too. She wore some amazing pieces that just wowed my mind. If you haven't already seen it watch it here.

  

These are just some of my favourite looks from the video, not many people could pull this off but she makes it look so effortless.

My only question now is, why has she not graced the front cover of Vogue yet?

Muse of the Month||Leomie Anderson

I'm going to start featuring people on my blog who inspire me in all aspects of life. 

This month's post goes to Leomie Anderson. Just a little back track to who she is; Leomie is a 20 year old model from London (plus a Jamaican like myself woot! woot!) who was scouted by premier models at the age of 14 (LUCKY!!) and is doing very well within the modelling industry. You may have recently seen her walk the Rihanna for River Island catwalk which made me rekindle my love for her. But Leomie isn't just an average model, she's done tons of work for high end designers such as Jeremy Scott and has walked on over a dozen high end fashion catwalks just this past fashion week, London being seven.

But the main reason to why I respect her so much is because she is really studying her craft and is a role model for younger girls who aspire to be like her. On her YouTube channel Cracked China Cup she reminds girls that education is key and that modelling isn't all fun and laughter. She also explains the hardships of being a coloured model but assures her audience that it doesn't stop her from wanting to continue in pursuing a successful career in the business. Leomie inspires me to never give up on something you want even though there may be stumbling blocks in your way. If you never try, you will never succeed.
